The invisible eye

The Surat City Police Department and Surat Traffic Education Trust embarked on India’s first-ever Safe City project, which was rolled out in Surat City. A 280-square- feet DLP video wall was installed in Surat Police’s headquarters. This video wall is supported by Delta’s Icon Pro controller, which can capture and display data from sources such as IP streams, RGB and HD-SDI. Live feeds from hundreds of CCTV cameras installed throughout the city are sent to the video surveillance system. Officers in the control room can now efficiently address terror threats, streamline traffic management and improve the overall safety of the city.

"3D face recognition technology nowadays is so precise and accurate, there’s no room for error. It’s also non-intrusive, so it facilitates hassle-free security checks. We don’t have to approach or stop people anymore to do our job effectively. Of course, our tenants love that."
